Anniston Star
The Rev. Jesse James Sims, 62, of Delta, a retired Methodist minister who had 
lived In Clay County all his life, died at the residence yesterday following a 
three-week illness. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 1: 3O at 
Black's Chapel in Clay County. Burial will be directed by Blair Funeral home. The 
Rev. J. B. Marlow of Anniston will officiate. Survivors include the widow, Mr. 
Lera Latham Sims; one son, Lecil E. Sims, Delta; a grandson, Bobby Sims; three 
brothers, Samie K. Suns, Long Beach, Calif.; Delmer Sims, Elsinore, Calif., and 
Warner Sims, of Goodwater; and five sisters, Mrs. Thelma Schumacher, Elsinore; 
Mrs. Alma Usrey, Pensaeola, Fla.; Mrs. Minnie Lee Russell, Jasper; Mrs. Lena 
Character and Mrs. Bertie Denman, Anniston.
