Boiling Springs minutes
Dear Brethren. It becomes our painful duty to chronicle the death of our lamented 
Brethren Eli A. Smith whose loss we sadly deplore. Bro. E. A. Smith was born in 
Wilkes County, Georgia, the 2nd day of October 1815, moved with his parents to 
Coweta County in 1829. Was baptized into the fellowship of Providence church by 
Rev John Fry in 1840. Was ordained to the deacon office by Mt. Moriah in 1866 by 
W. T. Davis, H. J. Hicky and John Garrett, presbytery, died May 23, 1895.
