Samuel left home at noon on Saturday to come to Ashland. He passed through a field where he had previously been working got quantity of hemlock root, supposing it to be angelica. On his way to Ashland, he ate some of the root. and soon after reaching town and drinking a quality of water, have signs of being poisoned. Spasm after spasm endured for about two hours. When is suffering ended in death at about 5 o'clock p. m. Friends and medical aid were on hand and rendered all the service possible, but to no purpose: the poison had done its work, and another soul gazed upon the boundless realm of eternity. This is the third death in Clay from this deadly poison within the last few years.
