Funeral services were conducted for Joe Anderson Smith. 78 at Cragford Saturday. 
The Rev. Grady Birchfield and the Rev. W. R. Ingram officiated. Burial was in 
Bethany Cemetery with Blair Funeral Home in charge. Mr. Smith died at his home 
early Friday Morning after an illness of several months. He was born in 
Tallapoosa County but had lived in Clay County most of his life. He was a retired 
farmer. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Unie Green Smith Cragford; two sons. 
Earlie Smith. Cragford, J. T Smith. Birmingham: three daughters, Mrs. Tressie 
Jones, Ashland, Miss Esther Smith, Cragford and Linnie Branch Cragford one 
brother Roland Smith, Cragford; seven grandchildren and seven great 
grandchildren.
