Miss Amanda Bell Smith, 79. of Delta, Rt 1, died Wednesday at Southeast, Nursing 
Home Lineville, following an extended illness.  Funeral services will be con 
ducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Bethel Baptist Church. The Rev George Payne and the 
Rev. Elmer Wheeles will officiate, Burial will be in the church cemetery Blair 
Funeral Home is in charge. Miss Smith was a native of Clay County and was a 
daughter of the late Javan Jefferson and Eliza Jane Owens Smith. Survivors 
include two sisters, Miss Elender Smith of Delta, and Mrs. Matt Thrash of 
Tallapoosa GA., and several nieces and nephews. Nephews will serve a s 
pallbearers.
