Services for Miss Elender Josephine Smith, 98, of Delta, Rt. 1, were today at 2 
p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church in Clay County with the Rev. Harry Haynes 
officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with Estes Funeral Home of Heflin 
in charge. Miss Smith died Sunday at Golden Springs Nursing Facility. Survivors 
include a niece and five nephews. Pallbearers were George Turley, Tony Turley, 
Baxter Turley Jr., Darrell Turley, Homer Bowen and Gary Gardner.  Miss Smith was 
a lifelong resident of Delta where she was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
