Smith reached Lineville Tuesday night from Tuscaloosa, where he died in the Veteran's hospital, death being caused partly from gas received in the World War. Henry Smith, son of Daniel and Mrs. Smith, was in the U. S. Army eight or ten years, entering even before the World War and served over seas. He had been honorably, discharged from the army and had been farming near Wilsonville, Shelby county, the past two years. He was taken to the hospital just a few days ago. Besides his mother, brothers and sisters he leaves a wife and two children. Undertaker Blair had charge of the funeral and Rev. L.M. Harris and Rev. Roberts conducted the funeral services Wednesday.
