Anniston Star
Roland Wesley Smith, 88, of Mt. Pisgah community, Cragford, Rt. 1, died Tuesday 
at the University Hospital, Birmingham, after a short illness. Funeral was today 
at 11 am.  at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church with the Rev. the Rev. A.O. Burdette and 
Elder D. B. Robertson officiating. Burial was in the Bethany Primitive Baptist 
Church Cemetery with Blair Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Survivors 
include three daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Branch of Langdale, Mrs. Josie Raspberry 
of Florala and Mrs. Ruby Bence of Weaver; and four sons, Bob Smith of Phenix 
City, C. P. Smith and Noel E. Smith, both of Wadley, and Leamon Smith of 
Cragford. Pallbearers were Tom Kennedy, Tom Sprayberry; Duel Sprayberry and 
Linton Blankenship. Mr. Smith was a lifelong resident of the Mt Pisgah-Bethany 
community.
