Anniston Star
Luther D. Sprayberry, 84, of Lincoln, Rt. 1, died Saturday at Talladega Nursing 
Home after a short illness. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Gray 
Brown-Service Chapel with the Rev. Louie Fincher, the Rev. J. W. Phillips and 
the Rev. Henry Lewis officiating. Burial will be in Providence Cemetery in Clay 
County. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Julia Sprayberry; three sons, Samuel 
Sprayberry of Anniston, Luther Sprayberry of Tuscaloosa and Virgil Sprayberry, 
of Las Vegas, five daughters, Mrs. W. V. Waddell, Mrs. W. O. Lindsey and Mrs. G. 
Q. Smith of Anniston, Mrs. L. L. Ashworth of Salisbury, N. and. Mrs. W. C. 
Turnham of Tuscaloosa; three stepsons, R.C. Singleton of Oxford, A. L. Singleton 
of Eastaboga and E. N. Singleton of Talladega; a brother, Lon Sprayberry of Los 
Angeles; three sisters, Mrs.1 Garfield Reynolds of Alexander City, 22 
grandchildren and 15 greatgrandchildren. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
