Ashland Progress 
Claude B. Stanford, age 72, passed away at his home in the Shiloh Lineville 
Community, Thursday, March 1st. Funeral services were held Saturday, March 3rd, 
at Shiloh Baptist Church of which he was a faithful member, with Rev. Grady 
Birchfield, his pastor and Reuben Birchfield, a former pastor. Interment in the 
adjoining cemetery with Blair in charge. Mr. Stanford is survived by his wife, 
Mrs. Rena Stanford; three sons, Grady and Jesse of Ashland; Cecil Joe of 
Livingston. Two daughters, Mrs. Annie Mae Vickers of Ashland and Mrs. Daisy Lou 
Gilbert of Talladega. Eight grandchildren and one great grandson. Three 
brothers, A. J. Stanford of Lineville, A.F. and Jim Stanford of China Springs, 
Texas. Pallbearers were Woodrow Golden, Theron Sparks, Edd Sparks, Crayton 
Vickers, Calvin Vickers, and Everette Short.
