After an illness of about 10 days, she answered the summons "Come Up Higher," taking her departure February 3, 1927. Her home life was beautiful, her hands were never idle, her feet never still. Her's was a life of toil and sacrifice, cheerfully carrying the burden of the family. She was kind and gentle, a loving wife and devoted mother. She joined the Baptist church early in life and was ever faithful. Always ready to render any assistance possible. Her friends felt no "hesitancy in calling on her when help was needed. She was always among the first to respond. She endeared to all who knew her, and those who knew her best loved her most. We laid her body to rest in the cemetery at Antioch, Clay County. The services were conducted by Rev. Charles Wesley. She sleeps the sleep that knows no waking this side of the day when "all that are in the grave shall hear His Voice and shall come forth" to meet their loved ones, where there will be no more parting forever.
