W. Starnes, 64, died at his home in Fairfax Saturday, April 27. Funeral services were held at Mt. Gideon church in Clay County Sunday afternoon at three o'clock. Rev. G. D. Hunt, pastor of the Lanett Christian church, officiated. Interment was in the church cemetery. Mr. Starnes was a native of Clay County, Alabama, coming to Fairfax about eight years ago. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Miss Mollie Lankford, some years ago. Surviving Mr. Starnes are six children, Mrs. Homer Kennedy, Mrs. Milledge Gray, Mrs. Myrtle Goss, Mrs. Cecil Wright, Albert Starnes of Fairfax, and Mrs. Alfred Moore of West Point.
