E. Church, south when a mere child. Married to Mr. Jas. B. Steed the 9th of March 1892, and died in the Lord Sept 21st, 1893, at 8 o'clock a.m. The writer conducted her funeral service in the Methodist Church at Lineville in the presence of one of the largest congregations of sympathizing, sorrowing friends that has ever worshiped in that church ever particle of sitting room in the spacious building was crowded, and a large number of young men and boys, beside quite a number of colored people stood throughout the service. This beautiful, well rounded, polished, consecrated Christian life; ended in a glorious triumph of conquering faith, seldom equaled, and perhaps, never surpassed...................... Her pastor.
