Ashland Progress
Helen Marie Stockdale, little nine-year-old daughter of Mrs. Louise Stockdale, 
died at her home on Route 1, Ashland, Monday afternoon. She has been ill several 
years. funeral services were held Wednesday morning at Sardis church with Rev 
Frank Ledford, Rev. Luther Brown and Rev. Watts officiating. White Funeral Home 
was in charge of arrangements. Interment was in the adjoining cemetery. Surviving 
are the mother and one lister, Annie Ruth Stockdale; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. 
Joe Mitchell and Mr. and Mrs. M. S. Stockdale. Pallbearers were Sanford Haynes, 
Kenneth Wesley, Larry Webber, Earnest Hudgins and Grady Steed Jr.
