Services for Burl Strickland, 59, of Lineville will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at 
Benefield Funeral Home of Lineville with the Rev. Randy Anderson and the Rev. 
Tommy Young officiating. Burial will be in New Harmony Cemetery. The family will 
receive friends at the funeral home from 5 tonight until service time. Mr. 
Strickland died Thursday at Clay County Hospital. Survivors include his wife, 
Ms. Grace Strickland of Lineville; six sons, David Strickland and Ricky 
Strickland, both of Ashland, Matt Strickland, Gary Strickland, Garr Strickland 
and Randy Strickland, all of Cragford; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Strickland of 
Lineville, Mrs. Burty Jim Foster of Pine Mountain, Ga., and Mrs. Jean Clardy of 
Largo, Fla.; a brother, Marvin Strickland of Knoxville, Tenn. and nine 
grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Junior Fables, Billy Joe Young, Johnny 
Patterson, Terry Bowen and Hugh Young. Mr. Strickland was a lifelong Clay County 
resident. He was a former lineman and a member of Mellow Valley Baptist Church.
