Anniston Star
Funeral services were held at the Union Church in Clay County for Thomas P. 
Strickland, age 74, who died at his home at Anniston, Route 3 at 4:15 o'clock 
Saturday afternoon following a short illness. The Rev. Major Johnson and the Rev. 
William Schultz officiated at the ritual. Interment was in the church cemetery, 
with Jones in charge. Mr. Strickland is survived by his wife, four sons, W. E. 
and G. A. of Oxford,. W. M. of Pyriton and A. E. of, Anniston; a daughter, Mrs. 
Joe Brown of Pyriton; a sister, Mrs. M. S. Dover, Ohatehee; a brother Oliver of 
Chandler Springs, and several grandchildren.
