Anniston Star
Funeral services for Walter M. Strickland, 79, of Lineville, Rt. 3, will be held 
today at 2 p.m. at Mt. Zion Church of Christ in Clay County. The Rev. James 
Taylor will conduct the services and grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. 
Blair Funeral Home is in charge. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Willie 
Strickland; four daughters, Mrs. Hattie Carter of Lincoln, Mrs. Lorene Worthy of 
Alexander City, and Mrs. Velma Turner and Mrs. Lois Roberts, both of Oxford; four 
sons, Dewey of Dadeville. Huel of Lineville, William of Oxford, and Bradford of 
Anniston; three brothers; one sister; 28 grandchildren and 37 great 
grandchildren.

Note: He is buried at Union-D Baptist Church Cemetery, Clay County, AL.
