Hezekiah Strickland, 71, of Ashland, died Sunday at Clay County Hospital after a 
short illness. Funeral services were scheduled today at 2 p.m. at Lystra Baptist 
Church with the Rev. A. A. Jacobs was in the adjoining cemetery with Blair Brown-
Service Funeral Home in charge. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Sara Strickland; 
three sons, Elgan C. Strickland of Birmingham, Billy J. Strickland of Alexander 
City, and Lynwood Strickland of Cordele, Ga. four sisters, Mrs. Roxie May and 
Mrs. Leola Williams, both of Ashland, Mrs. Willie Bell Treadwell and Mrs. Adell 
Jacks, both of Talladega; nine grandchildren and six.
