Mr. Sumners was reared in the Brownville community and was a member of the Hatchett Creek Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his widow. Mrs. Ruth Nelson Sumners: two children. Janie Ruth and John Byron, of Union Springs; one sister, Mrs. Henry Rogers, of Goodwater: two brothers, Buster Sumners, of Notasulga, and Adrian Sumners, of Gantt's Quarry, and many relatives and friends to mourn his passing. Funeral services were held at the Hatchett Creek church on Sunday afternoon, at 3 o'clock, with Elder B. B. Finley, officiating, Burial was in the church cemetery, directed by an undertaker Union Springs.
