James W. Swann, who was called from labor below to come up higher to refreshments above on the 19th day of December 1893, at the age of 80 years, one mouth and two days, make the following report: Whereas, an Alwise God in His Providence, has seen fit to remove from this Earthly Lodge to the Celestial Lodge above, our beloved Bro. James W. Swann. Whereas Bro. Swann was a useful citizen and a faithful Mason. Resolved, 1st. That while we cheerfully submit to the decrees of Him whose dispensations are ever ordered in wisdom, mercy and justice, we greatly deplore his loss. Resolved, 2nd. That in the death of Bro. Swann, this community has lost a useful citizen, his family a kind and affectionate husband and father, the Masonic Fraternity a true and devoted advocate. Resolved, 3rd. That we tender to the family of our deceased Bro. our warmest sympathy. Resolved, 4th, That this Lodge wear the usual badge of mourning for 3O days, and these resolutions he spread upon the Minutes of the Lodge, and a copy of them be sent to family of our deceased Bro. and that copies be sent to the Clay County Advance, People's Party Advocate and Masonic Guide for publication.
