Tate, pioneer resident of this county died at his home in this city last Friday night about 11 o'clock. Before his health failed Mr. Tate followed the carpenter's trade, and by his quiet unassuming manner made many friends who regret his passing. His popularity was attested by the large funeral cortege which wound its way over the mountain road to the peak where the little church of which he was a member, could seat only a small fraction of those assembled to pay their respects. The large and beautiful floral offering bespoke the high esteem in which he was held by his friends. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at Pleasant Grove Christian Church, Conducted by Rev. Franklin Camp. The Masons had charge of the services at the grave.
