Ashland Progress
News comes from Lineville of a tragic accident which resulted in the instant 
death of a son of Alley Thomas, who was the victim of an accidental shot from a 
pistol in the hands of another young man by name of Johnson Wednesday night. The 
report is that the two young me were friends and were in a playful mood when in 
some unexplained way the pistol which Johnson removed from his pocket was 
discharged, the ball entering Thomas's breast and killing him instantly.
