Ashland Progress
Funeral rites for Mr. Charles H. Thomas, 89, were held at Oak Grove at 2 o'clock 
p.m. interment was in adjacent cemetery. Mr. Thomas passed away in Talladega on 
Oct. 16th, following a period of declining health. He is survived by eight 
daughters, Mrs. Vira Bates, Mrs. M. E. Solley and Mrs. Grover Spurling of 
Talladega; Mrs. Ada Hanner of Gulfport, Mrs. N. L. Morgan and Mrs. Fred Gaither 
of Anniston; Mrs. Clarence Carpenter of Ashland and Mrs. Myrtle Burns of Texas; 
34 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
