Ashland Progress
Mrs. Pemmie E. Thomas died at the home of her son-in-law, Morgan Allen, several 
miles from Ashland on the Mellow Valley Road at 9:30 a. m. Monday, after an 
illness of five-or six-weeks duration. Mrs. Thomas was the widow of the late 
William Thomas and she is survived by six children two sons and four daughters. 
She was reared in the Mt. Zion community west of Ashland, being a member of a 
well-known family. She was a sister of our townsman, F. M. Willis. Funeral 
services were held Tuesday morning at Macedonia conducted by Elders Goodman and 
Denney, and she was buried in the Macedonia cemetery.
