Ashland Progress
William Thomas, age 67 years, died at his home in Alexander City at an early hour 
Friday morning after a brief illness and his remains were brought to Macedonia 
burying ground, between Ashland and Lineville, and laid to rest Saturday 
afternoon. Mr. Thomas was formerly a resident of this community and his wife, who 
survives him is a sister of F. M. Willis, of Ashland. He also leaves seven 
children, three sons and four daughters. He was employee of the Russell Mill 
which was held in high esteem. The funeral service was conducted by Elder H.H. 
Goodman.
