Funeral services were conducted for Floyd Rudolph Thompson, 29, at the Mt Pisgah 
Methodist Church Oct. 7. The Rev. Grady Birchfield, the Rev. E. L. Wheeles and 
the Rev John R. Abbott officiated. Interment was in the Bethany Cemetery with 
Blair Funeral Home in charge. He died at the Veteran's Hospital in Birmingham 
early Sunday morning following an illness of several years. He had served in the 
Army several years and had been in ill health since his discharge. He is survived 
by his parents, Preston Thompson and Mrs. Esther S. Thompson, Rt 1, Cragford; one 
by a sister, Miss Shelby Jean Thompson, Rt 1, Cragford, and his grandmother, Mrs. 
J. A. Smith, Rt. 1, Cragford. Pallbearers were Herbert Mask, James Mask, Wilson 
Branch, Adarien Brewer, Amos Kennedy and I V. Jones.
