John D Tidwell 60 of Hogansville died Saturday at his home The funeral was today 
at Claude A McKibben Funeral Home with burial in Mount Gilead Methodist Church 
Cemetery Clay County Ala Mr. Tidwell was born July 17 1924 in Clay County a son 
of Mr. and Mrs. Otis Tidwell A Hogansville resident for the past six months he 
had lived in LaGrange for many years and was a veteran of World War II He was a 
member of Mount Olive Baptist Church Wadley Ala, and Veterans of Foreign Wars 
LaGrange He was an electrician Survivors include his wife Virginia three sons 
Richard Tidwell and Wayne Tidwell both of Roanoke Ala, and Michael Freeman of 
Franklin six daughters Margaret Ivey of Franklin, Martha Freeman of Hogansville, 
Mrs Harold Toney of Lancaster Texas, Mrs. Mike Herring of Irving Texas, Ruth 
Ayers of Winston Ga, and Pam Tidwell of Roanoke, a sister Annie Sue Tidwell of 
New Port Richey Fla., three brothers Melvin Tidwell of Wadley and Willie and Lyn 
Tidwell both of Alabama, 14 grandchildren two great-grandchildren.
