Tidwell, 79, of Wadley, Rt. 2, were today at Mount Olive Baptist Church with the Rev. Zenus Windsor and the Rev. Charles Jordan officiating. Burial was in Mount Gilead United Methodist Church Cemetery with Brock Funeral Home in charge. Mrs. Tidwell died Wednesday in Clay County Hospital after a long illness. Survivors include her husband, W.E. Tidwell of Wadley; four daughters, Mrs. Pearl Harris of Wadley, Mrs. Mildred Abernathy of Mellow Valley, Mrs. Shirley Estes of Abanda and Mrs. Stella Sewell of Birmingham; three sons, Wilburn Tidwell of Perryville, Max Tidwell of Alexander City and J.C. Tidwell of Pensacola, two sisters, Mrs. Zema Hodge of Alexander City and Mrs. Ora Lee Shockley of Wadley; 18 grandchildren. 12 great- grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. Pallbearers were Baron Tidwell, Jack Harris, Bill Abernathy, Keith Tidwell, Mark Tidwell and Chuck Estes. Mrs. Tidwell was a native and lifelong resident of Clay County. She was a homemaker and a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church.
