Ashland Progress
On Friday, May 23, 1930, in the early dawn God called to Emanuel R. Todd to 
leave this world for a home of rest. He was born November 14, 1899 at Perry, 
Georgia. He lived at Perry until a few years after his marriage. He was married 
to Miss Georgia Jacobs. To the union was born one son, Joe Jack. Besides his 
wife and baby to mourn his going are his father and mother, Mr. I and Mrs. Tee 
Todd, of Perry Ga.; also, three brothers and one sister. Bennett Todd of 
Atlanta. Ga.; Mrs. Ida Bell Woodruff, of Perry, Ga.; Clarence Todd, of Detroit, 
Mich; L. C. Todd, of Perry, Ga. and many friends and relatives. He has been 
residing in Ashland for some time. His occupation as a mechanic brought him in 
contact with many people and everyone that knew him was his friend. His friends 
loved him, but angels loved him best. His loved ones can feel assured that he is 
now resting where there is no pain or sorrow in that better world. Live to meet 
him on yonder shore. Written by a cousin.
