Our Mountain Home
Mrs. Surildy Louisa Tompkins, 61, died at her home at Coleta Saturday afternoon. 
The funeral service was held Sunday afternoon at Macedonia Baptist church, 
Jackson and Clardy conducting. Mrs. Tompkins survived by her husband W.P. 
Tompkins, three daughter Mrs. Alton Morrison Talladega; Misses Ethel and Bessie 
Tompkins, Coleta, seven sons, Willie, Texas; Y.Z. Birmingham; Aubrey, Atlanta; 
Robert, Henderson and Tim, Clay County, and Gilbert Tompkins, Samoset; three 
brothers, Gilbert and Johnny McInnish, Clay County, and Jesse, Montgomery; and 
three sisters, Mrs. Pauline Brasher, Birmingham; Mrs. Cindy Johnson, Boaz, and 
Miss Celia Williams, Albertville.
