Funeral services were held at Macedonia Church on Sunday January 20th at 3:00 p.m. Rev Garner M. Clark, pastor of Friendship Baptist Church, where the deceased was a member, and A. O. (Doc) Burdette, officiated with Blair directing. She is survived by her husband, J. H. Townsend, three daughters, Mrs. J. D. Jones, Mrs. W. L. Finney, Tallassee; Mrs. C. M. Bryson, Blouutsville; five sons, C. T. Townsend, Sylacauga; Jim Townsend, Opelika; Woodrow Townsend, Washington, D.C., Borden Townsend, Birmingham; Lester Townsend, Pratt City. Two stepsons, Wilburn Townsend, Columbus, Lee Townsend, Rome, Ga. Two sisters, Mrs. Lillie Tomlin, Opelika; Miss Julia Poe, Ashland. Twenty-six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Pallbearers were Jack Tomlin, Jimmie Tomlin, V. C. Hollis, J. T. Smith, Grover Tomlin and Leon Parsons.
