Mrs. Cardel C. Upchurch, Delta, Rt. 1, will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Black's Chapel 
United Methodist Church with the Rev. Hobart Murphree and the Rev. James Duke 
officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home of 
Lineville in charge. Mrs. Upchurch died Saturday at the Lineville Geriatrics 
Center after a long illness. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Shirley Johnson 
of Delta; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Luna Cole of Delta; a sister, Mrs. Mary 
Blankenship of Birmingham; and a grandson. Pallbearers will be Charles Upchurch, 
Harl White. Carl Cole, Stedman Browning, Ben Character and Newton Wakefield. She 
was a homemaker and a member of Black's Chapel United Methodist Church. The body 
will remain at the funeral home until an hour prior to services.
