Ashland Progress
Final rites for Mrs. Leatrice Waits of Ashland Route 2, were at Shiloh Baptist 
Church on December 18th at 3 o'clock p.m., conducted by Rev. A. A. Jacobs.
Interment was in adjacent cemetery with Blair Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers 
were James Brown, Basil Sparks, John Jackson, Darcey Wolfe, Pelham Walker, 
Pinkney Dison. Mrs. Waits passed away on December 17th in University Hospital in 
Bham at an early morning hour at the age of 59. Survivors include her husband, 
Herbert Waits, Ashland, and four sisters, Mrs. O. L. Headrick, Lineville; Mrs. 
A.L. Carpenter, Talladega; Mrs. W. L. Wright, Eastland, Texas; Mrs. W. P. Worthy, 
Talladega; one brother, Bert Pettus, Lineville Route 3.
