Wakefield, 85, of Delta, Rt. 1, were today at 2 p.m. at Black's Chapel Methodist Church with the Rev. Bob Brown and the Rev. James Duke officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with Jackson Funeral Home in charge. Mrs. Wakefield died Saturday at Clay County Hospital in Ashland. Survivors include four sons, William E. Wakefield of Anniston, Newton B. Wakefield of Delta, Jesse Wakefield of Enterprise and James W. Wakefield of Lineville; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be R.C. Wakefield, Grady Wakefield, Lloyd Wakefield, Edgar Tinnin, Donald Strickland and James H. Ingram. Mrs. Wakefield was a native of Winston County and a Clay County resident most of her life. She was a member of Black's Chapel Methodist Church. She was the widow of Roy. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest contributions to the Clay County Rescue Squad.
