His ideal of citizenship and neighborliness was clear and exercised. Tactful, jolly and pleasant to the last. Strong in faith and submission to God, did not fear to go. He made all his plans known, requested us not to grieve after him but to rejoice when he got easy. He was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church for many years. Born in Georgia but lived most of his time in Alabama. Remembered going many miles in the ox wagon to West Point, the only market where iron articles could he obtained in this section long before the civil war. He was 77 years, 3 months, 9 days old. The trail of life brought him back by modern conveyance near West Point, the town of his childhood, to live nearly six years, the last days of his life. Buried at County Line Church in Clay County, Ala. Surviving the deceased are: One brother, J. K. Waldrop, Wadley, Ala.; Nieces, Mrs. Owen Allen, of Freedonia; Mrs. Dealer Smith, Langdale; Mrs. J. S. Moncus, Shawmut; Mrs. Richard Wood, Lanett; one nephew, Hop Morris, Shawmut; his wife and stepson, O. C. Dunaway.
