Ashland Progress
Samuel Watson Walker, born January 11, 1868, died in Clay County Hospital March 
8, 1955. Funeral services were held at the Corinth Baptist Church, Cragford, 
March 9, the Rev. Reubin Birchfield and Rev. Wilton Gregg officiating. Burial was 
in the church cemetery with Blair directing. Survivors are his wife, and a number 
of nieces and nephews. Mr. Walker, 87, was a lifetime citizen of the Cragford 
community. He had been in ill health for several years. Mr. Walker, a member of 
Corinth Church, for many years, was active in church work until he became unable 
to attend. Pallbearers were Byron Mc-Math, W. W. Twilley, Winford Walker, Lester 
Walker, Arthur O. Dawkins, J. B. Carter. Honorary pallbearers were Elbert Orr, 
Grady Canady, Fred Rush, Worth Amason, Orvil Canady and Glenn Smith.
