Funeral services were held for W. S. W. Walker, 87, at 2 o'clock Wednesday (March 
9) at the Corinth Baptist Church in the Mountain Community. Mr. Walker, a 
lifetime citizen of the Mountain Community, had been ill for several years and 
died at Clay County Hospital Tuesday morning. The Rev. Mr. Reuben Birchfield and 
the Rev. Mr. Grady Birchfield officiated with Blair Funeral Home, Lineville, in 
charge. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mr. Walker was an outstanding citizen 
of the Mountain Community where he had lived most of his life. He was engaged in 
fanning until a few years ago when ill health forced his retirement. He had been 
an active member of the Corinth Baptist Church for many years. He is survived by 
his widow and several nieces and nephews.
