Ashland Progress
Funeral services for Mr. David B. Walker were held at 10 o'clock a.m. on Oct. 
20th at Shiloh Baptist Church, with Rev. Grady Birchfield and Rev. Dee Hurst 
officiating. Interment was in adjacent cemetery with Blair Funeral Directors in 
charge. Active pallbearers were Clyde Walker, Buck Walker, Ira Caldwell. Maynard 
Walker and Charley Walker. Honorary pallbearers were Calvin Vickers, Auyer 
Burdette, Fred Kaye, Felton Bolt, Marion Clark, Lawrence Chapman, Edgar McKay, 
Beamon Denney, Roy Thornell, Pete Gaither, Bill Jones, Douglas Young. Mr. Walker 
passed away in Veterans Hospital in Montgomery on Oct 18th following long period 
of declining health at the age of 64. Survivors include his wife, two sons, 
Levis of Ashland and J. J. of Lineville. Four daughters, Mrs. James E. Spell, 
Ogden, Utah; Mrs. A.C. Chapman, Mrs. Haral White Marion; Mrs. Jay Frye, 
Lineville. Three brothers, three sisters, 12 grandchildren, two great-
grandchildren.
