An apparent argument over a meeting time has resulted in the shooting death of 
Welton Walker, a 43-year-old Cragford brick mason. Clay County Sheriff John Green 
said this morning two men have been jailed in connection with the shooting, and 
he expected some charges to be filed this afternoon. The incident occurred a 
quarter mile outside Cragford on a mountain road. Green said Walker met other men 
there, "and they had a little argument about what time they should have met." 
Green said Walker was shot once in the head with a revolver and apparently died 
instantly. An autopsy has been ordered. The sheriff said a state investigator 
will help in the investigation of the incident.
