Ashland Progress
Mr. David Richard Ward passed away July 12, at age of 93 at his home in Shiloh 
community. Funeral rites were held Wednesday, July 14, at Shiloh Baptist Church 
conducted by Rev. Tapley, Rev. C. T. Gregg and Rev. Shaddix, Blair in charge. Mr. 
Ward is survived by three sons, E. M. Ward, Victor Ward and Oscar Ward. Four 
daughters, Mrs. C. J. Ford, Beatrice Cummings, Izora Ward, and Lola Joiner, also 
a number of other relatives. Active pallbearers were Thurman Ford, James Ford, 
Lowell Ford, Charles Ward, Durward Ward and Billy Stanford. Honorary pallbearers 
were Barney Latham, Awyer Burdette, Lon Worthy, Fred King, Jim Mann, K.B. 
Braswell, Jeff Stanford, and Claude Stanford.
