Lineville Headlight
Reports from those present One Ackles voluntarily killed John Watts just over the 
Cleburne County side of the Talladega Mountain. No provocation is given or known 
by eyewitnesses. It seems that the killing was done about 6 p. m. Friday July 31, 
and the body was not moved until late Saturday, and was buried Sunday at Concord. 
Watts lived in Clay County, and it is said Ackles is a mountaineer and no home, 
so say those who know him.
