Anniston Star
Silas H. Watts, 73, of Rt. 3, died Saturday night in the Ashland Hospital in Clay 
County following a long illness. Funeral services will be held today at 4-p.m at 
Manning's Chapel Church in Clay County. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ada 
Watts; one daughter, Mrs. Sarah Mashburn, of Ilinois, one son, J. T. Watts of 
Lineville, one brother W.M. Watts, of Anniston, four sisters, Mrs. Maggie 
Shaddix, of Lineville. Mrs. Lola Hurs Lineville, Mrs. Nettie Freeman, of 
Talladega, Mrs. Maudine Roy, of Rossville, Ga.; nine grandchildren and two great 
grandchildren. Mr. Watts was a veteran of World War I.
