Anniston Star
 Services for Arthur Welch, 61, of Lineville will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. at 
Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. H.A. Sterling officiating. Burial will be in 
New Hope Cemetery with Strickland and Sims Funeral Service in charge. Mr. Welch 
died Saturday in Lineville. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Eller Welch of 
Ashland; five daughters, Mrs. Shirley Ross and Mrs. Geneva Ball, both of 
Anniston, Mrs. Bobbie Street and Mrs. Brenda Heard, both of Ashland, and Mrs. 
Alma Atkinson of Las Vegas; six sons, James Ware, Arthur Welch Jr., Charles 
Welch and Rodney Welch, all of Ashland, Richard Lindsey of Lineville and Cecil 
Walton of Chicago; a sister, Ms. Nelda J. Welch of Buffalo, N.Y. ; two brothers, 
Virgil Smith and D.D. Smith, both of Buffalo; 15 grandchildren and four great-
grandchildren.
