Ashland Progress
Mrs. W. W. Wesley, age 88 years, who spent about 50 years of her married life in 
Clay County, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. French Wright, in Anniston on 
Thursday, 17th, having suffered a stroke some weeks before. Funeral services were 
held at Usrey's Funeral Home in Anniston on Saturday, 19th, and interment was in 
Sardis cemetery near her former home, north of Ashland. She is survived by five 
daughters, Mrs. J. B. Ramsey of Birmingham; Mrs. O. M. Jenkins of Ashland; Miss 
Pearl Wesley and Mrs. French Wright of Anniston; Mrs. Warner Sims of Abanda; and 
one son, Virgil D. Wes ley, of Nashville, Ga. Mrs. Wesley was a sister-in-law of 
Mrs. A. B. Steed and Mrs. S. A. Steed of Ashland.
