W. Wesley, better known as Wiley Wesley, died at his home in Ashland at 4 o'clock, Tuesday afternoon. He had been in very bad health three or four years and had been confined to his bed most of the time the last two years, but through all his illness he manifested a patient disposition and entertained hopes of recovery until quite recently. If Mr. Wesley had lived until July he would have been 79 years of age. He is survived by his wife and five daughters, Mrs. J. B. Ramsey, of Birmingham: Mrs. Odie Jenkins, of Ashland; Mrs. Warner Sims, of Abanda; Mrs. French Wright, of Anniston; Miss Pearl Wesley, of Ashland; and one son, Virgil Wesley of Nashville, Ga. Three sisters, Mrs. S. A. Steed, Mrs. A. B. Steed of Ashland and Mrs. Tom Tomlin, of Gadsden also survive him, besides a large group of other relatives. Funeral services were held at the Ashland Methodist church today and interment was in Sardis cemetery near which he resided for about forty years before he moved to Ashland. The deceased was buried with Masonic honors.
