Ashland Progress
Quite a number from Ashland, members of the Masonic order and relatives and 
friends of the deceased, went up to Sardis Sunday afternoon to attend the funeral 
of L. M. Wesley, who died at his home near there Saturday after a long illness. 
The service was conducted by Rev. F. J. Ingram, assisted by Rev. S. P. Ashmore, 
and the interment was in charge of the Masonic fraternity of which Mr. Wesley had 
long been an honored member. Mr. Wesley was 75 years of age; the greater part of 
his life having been spent in the Sardis community where he has many relatives 
and friends. He is survived by his wife, three sons and three daughters, two of 
his children having preceded him to the grave. A more memory is expected for 
publication later.
