Sister Whatley was a citizen of Clay County, Ala., a loving, cheer-established and faithful and affectionate companion, a loving, tender and fond mother. She was a member of the Baptist church, and ever faithful to the cause of Christ; her husband was a deacon of the same, and true to assist in the work. Her orderly walk and conduct says with the image she bore that she was of God's blessed ones. She was the mother of six children, also six stepchildren, and lived to see them all converted and attached to the church of which she was a member, except two, her membership being at Concord church. She also lived to see all of her sons-in-law and daughters-in-law become attached to the same church, making twenty-two in all. We mourn her loss his wife, mother, sister and neighbor. But with this we have all reason to believe that she is with the corps of the blessed. For in life, even in the midst of her most severe pain, she often repeated the words, "I am ready, I am willing, I am prepared go home". May her husband, children, sisters, brothers and friends strive to meet her in that World of Bliss. The funeral of our dearly beloved sister will be preached, expected by W. T. Davis is and E. M. Moore, the 3rd Lord's Day in April at 11 o'clock a.m. from Revelations 14; 13, a passage of scripture selected by her husband. In remembrance of the sister, we can sing Asleep in Jesus, blessed sleep; From whence none ever wake to weep; A calm and undisturbed repose. Unbroken by the last of foes. E.
