White died at his. home south of Lineville Wednesday afternoon at 5:00 o'clock after an illness of only a few days. The cause of his death was pneumonia which he contracted! last Sunday. He was a good citizen and a successful farmer, and at the time of his death was 77 years of age. During the War between the states, he served as a private in company I, 14th Alabama regiment. This company was organized here at Lineville with John T. Bell as captain. Mr. White always took a deep interest in the local reunions and attended the last reunion at Lineville Sept 16th. He was a grother of J. A. White, of Ashland, and D. A. White, of Goodwater. He is survived by a widow and nine childred who, together with many friends, mourn his departure. His church membership was at Wesodulga where the funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon by the Reverend Martin, pastor of the church. The remains were laid to rest in the cemetery hard by to await the resurrection morning.
