Anniston Star
Funeral services for W. T. Whitley, age 68, who died at 8 o'clock Sunday morning 
at Garner Hospital in Anniston following a short illness, were conducted this 
afternoon from the Delta Church. The Rev. Cuff Malone officiated. Interment was 
in the church cemetery, with Jones of Anniston in charge. Surviving Mr. Whitley 
are his widow, two sons, W. T, Jr., of Oxford and Swope Whitley of Delta, six 
daughters. Mrs. A. A. Neighbors and Mrs. E. W. Smith of Delta, Mrs. A. Y. 
Currie, Mrs. C. H. Blake, Mrs. S. T. Fowler and Miss Jimmie Whitley all of 
Oxford; five brothers, John H. of Anniston, R. B. of Blue Mountain, Hubert of 
Gadsden, Ruffus of Odenville and Herbert Whitley of Opelika; five sisters, Mrs. 
Clara Noel of Anniston, Mrs. Essie Harwell of Ashland. Mrs. H. M. Preston of 
Delta, Mrs. Robert Miller of Lakeland, Fla, and Mrs. T. J. Miller of Opelika.
