Whitley, 89, 230 Hale Oxford, died Saturday night at Mary Brandon Manor after a long illness. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Miller Chapel with the Rev. Charles Stroud officiating, burial to follow in Delta Cemetery in Clay County with Miller Funeral Home in charge. Survivors include five daughters Mrs. A. A. Neighbors, Delta; Mrs. A. Y. Currie, Mrs. S. T. Fowler, and Mrs. C. H. Blake, all of Oxford; and Mrs. Frank Dougherty, Jacksonville. Two sons also survive. They are William T. Whitley, Anniston, and James S. Whitley, Oxford. Three sisters, Mrs. Dave Johnson, and Mrs. Nora B. Smith, both of Delta; and Mrs. Joe Brooks, Jay, 15 grandchildren and nine greatgrandchildren also survive. Mrs. Whitley was a native of Clay County and had been a resident of Calhoun County for the past 32 years. She was. a member of First Baptist Church of Oxford.
